2008 Angus On Parade Sale Posts Strong Results

Buyers came from throughout the country to participate in the Annual Angus On Parade Sale, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Angus Association and held in conjunction with the Keystone International Livestock Exposition.

As always the Spring ’08 Open Show Heifer Prospect provided tremendous quality and demand. Weaverland Farms, New Holland, PA sold two flush sisters Weaverland Blkcp Winter 811 and Weaverland Blkcp 825 Wisker, from their donor WeaverlandHF 033 Whitney 502 sired by EXAR Lutton 1831. The heifers both sold at $3,100 to Jennalee Murray, Princess Anne, MD and Michael Dayton, Mayesville, WV, respectively. Heart Felt Farms, Gettysburg, PA sold Heart Felt Dream Girl 815U, the 2/23/08 daughter of SAV Net Worth 4200 was selected by Express Ranches, Yukon, OK at $3,000.

Weaverland & Carty Livestock sold a Guaranteed Heifer Pregnancy from WeaverlandHF 033 Whitney 502 by SAV Net Worth 4200. The pregnancy was selected by Mt. Pisgah Angus, Troy, PA at $2,900. Weaverland & Carty Livestock also offered a Flush on WeaverlandHF 033 Whitney 502 to the bull of the buyers choice. The flush was selected by ErRer Hill Farm, Friedens, PA at $3,000.

Top-Selling Fall Open Show Heifer was consigned by Windy Ridge Acres, Rocky Ridge, MD. Windy Ridge Winnie 07, a 9/1/07 daughter of Rito 9FB3 of 5H11 Fullback commanded a price of $1,550 and sold to Wayne Gore, Inwood, WV.

Cow/Calf Pairs were in strong demand. Just Enuff Angus, Bethlehem, PA consigned Daltons Northern Miss 49, a 1/22/04 daughter of Hyline Right Time 338 bred back to BCA Myron K61, the cow sold to Brian Palmer, Wyoming, DE at $2,650. Her 4/15/08 heifer calf by Gambles Hot Rod sold to Kayce Myers, Wellsville, PA at $2,000 bringing the pair to a total value of $4,650. Longview Acres, Airville, PA sold Cherry Knoll Barbie 4016, a 3/6/04 daughter of BR Midland and her 6/7/08 heifer calf by BC Marix 4132, the pair sold to Aaron Rohrbach, Shoemakersville, PA at $2,600.

Top-Bred heifer was consigned by WBB Farm LLC, Alden, NY. WBB Star 727, a 4/2/07 daughter of BC Mr Beef 2231 sold safe to BC Big Daddy 702-5 to Stanley Crone, Danville, PA at $2,100. Stanley also selected SSF Rita Improvement 4287, a 4/28/07 daughter of Northern Improvement 4480 GF safe to Connealy Danny Boy at $2,000.

The Archer Farms, Chesterville, ME sold 5 Grade 1 Embryos by GAR Predestined out of the donor, VT Ext W79. The embryos sold at $350 each to Boruff’s Creekside Farm, Sparta, TN.
