Pennsylvania Angus On Parade Sale Captures Strong Demand & Prices

The Pennsylvania Angus Association held their 5th Annual "Angus On Parade" Sale at the Keystone International Livestock Exposition, Harrisburg, PA on October 6th, 2007. The demand for high quality Angus cattle was strong as reflected in some of the best prices in years.

Top-selling cow/calf pair of Weaverland Valley Farms, New Holland.
"Weaverland AEL Priscilla 511", a 1/24/05 daughter of "WCC Special Design L309" safe in calf to "BC Marathon 7022" sold to Matt Mitchell of Reinholds, PA at $5,000.00. Her 4/14/07 daughter by "Connealy Danny Boy" was selected by Andrew Cranmer, Butler, PA at $2,400.00 brining the pair to a total price of $7,400.00 Weaverland Valley Farms also topped the Open Heifer division with "Weaverland Blkbrd Frisby 724", the 3/24/07 daughter of "TC Freedom 104" was selected by Matt Mitchell, Reinholds, PA at $4,000.00. Cherry Knoll Farm, West Grove, PA consigned "Cherry Knoll Queen 7024", a 3/28/07 daughter of "Connealy Mr Conanga", she sold to Tyler Fulton, Ontario, Canada at $3,400.00. Valerie Svonovec, Rockwood, PA selected "Rains Totally Charlie TRTCH", a 1/26/07 daughter of "TC Total 410", consigned by Rains Angus, Mercer, PA and sold at $3,100.00. Ady Acres, Street, MD consigned "Elbas Allure", a 2/8/07 daughter of "Leachman Saugahatchee 3000C" and sold to Caleb Schmuck, Rockwood, PA at $2,500.00.

Bred heifers were strong on quality and demand. Topping the division was "SSF Rita Special Design 6276", a 6/27/06 daughter of "WCC Special Design L309" safe to "HSAF Bando 1961" and was selected by Alexandra Cochran, Rocky Ridge, MD at $2,700. Cassandra Bowsher, Langsville, OH selected "Kayla's Miss Traveler 004", a 3/16/06 daughter of "Traveler 004" safe to "BC Marathon 7022" at $2,450.00, consigned by Francis Show Cattle of Brooklyn, CT. Buchanan Cattle Enterprises, Aldie, VA sold a flush to "CQS Georginia 4005" a 4/3/04 daughter of "Leachman Saugahatchee" to ErReR Hill Farms, Friedens, PA at $4,700.00. AJOB Cattle Co., Newport, PA sold a flush to "WA Mayflower R24" to CRW Cattle Co., Finksburg, MD at $3000.00.

Topping the heifer pregnancy division was Holly Tree Farm, Berryville, VA with a "Boyd New Day 8005" out of "MF OSC3 Queen B 9EXT. The pregnancy sold to Upchurch Bros of Alabama at $7,500.00. Weaverland Valley Farms & Carty Farms, New Holland, PA sold a "EXAR Lutton 1831" heifer pregnancy out of "WeaverlandHF 033 Whitney 502 to Daltons On The Sycamore, Altavista, VA at $3,000.00.
