FINEST FEMALE SALE RESULTS 

The Finest Female Sale, June 9 at ErReR Hill Farms, Friedens, saw 60 lots average $2263 for a sale total of $135,750. The juniors sold $3000 worth of semen to enhance their monies for the Eastern Regional and other events.

The top lot was Lot 30 JJ Rita Heifer Pregnancy, due Feb 2008 by Connealy Onward out of GAR 1407 New Design 1332 sold to Bricton in GA for $14,500. The lot was consigned by JJ Angus of Connellsville, PA.

The top-selling cow/calf pair was consigned by Cherry Knoll Farm, West Grove, PA with Lot 9, Bottle Bea of Conanga 860, a January 2003 daughter of Connealy Front Page 0228. She had a heifer calf at side born March 2007 by Connealy Mr Conango. That pair went to KCS in MO for $6000. The second high-selling cow/calf pair was Lot 58 consigned by Weaverland Valley Farms, New Holland with Weaverland Queen L Alicia 517 a February 2005 daughter of B/R New Frontier 095 with a January 2007 heifer calf at side by Connealy Danny Boy—cow was bred back to calve 1/17/08 to BR Midland. The pair brought $4000 and sold to Dr. John Stoner, Shippensburg. Lot 57 was third top selling cow/calf pair. Weaverland Ann Desiree 523, a March 2005 daughter of WCC Special Design L309 with a January 2007 bull calf at side by Connealy Danny Boy and bred back to calve to Schurrtop MC 2500. Also sold to Dr. Stoner for $3500. Consigned by Weaverland Valley Farms, New Holland.

Top Open Heifer, Lot 1 consigned by ErReR Hill Farms, Friedens, sold for $4000 to Grady. She is a March 2006 CA Future Direction 5321 daughter out of BCC Miss Cheyenne 41-94.

Top combination lots: Lot 44, 44A & 44B sold for a total of $4000. Slayton 204 Baretta of 034 is a 2002 daughter of Bon View New Design 1407 with a March 2007 heifer calf at side by GAR Integrity— cow was bred back to B/R New Frontier 095 for a 1/29/08 calf—the pair brought $2500. Her 2006 heifer calf by GAR Retail Product brought $1500, she was bred to Ironwood New Level. Lots 43, 43A and 43B totaled $3700 and sold to Sycamore Hill Farm, VA. They were consigned by Paul Slayton, Bedford. Slayton 303 Baretta 6578/004 a 2003 daughter of GAR Grid Maker with a January 2007 heifer calf at side Ironwood New Level sold for $2500—bred to calve 12/27/07 to N Bar A1747. Her January 2006 daughter by GAR Integrity sold for $1200 to Sycamore Hill. She was bred to Ironwood New Level. Lots 64 and 64A brought $1700 and $1200 for a total of $2900 for the combination lot. WLC Scarlet 9003 4082 is a 2004 daughter of SAV 8180 Traveler 004, bred to calve 9/1/07 to Mytty In Focus, her 9/1/06 heifer calf by BCC Bushwacker 41-93 brought $1200. Both head sold to Perry Land and Cattle Co., Newport.

Top bred heifers: Lot 55, Weaverland Queen L Liz 537 a 9/05 daughter of GAR Integrity bred to calve 9/07 to Schurrtop 2500 was purchased by Rick Scanlin, Dushore, for $2200. Consigned by Weaverland Valley Farms. Lot 54, a September 2005 TC Foreman 016 daughter bred to calve September 2007 to HSAF Bando 1961 sold to Sycamore Hill Farm for $2000. Consigned by Hawthorn Farm, McVeytown and Weaverland Valley Farms, New Holland.

Lot 50A four Frozen Embryos consigned by Titan Farm, WV, sold to Riverbend Farm, NJ for $400 each. OCC Emblazon x Kahn Pride B129. Lot 50B four frozen embryos, sold to Weaverland Valley Farms, New Holland for $350 each. BC Marathon 7022 x Kahn Pride B129. they were also consigned by Titan Farm, WV. Sale was managed by American Angus Hall of Fame in Smithville, MO.
